Can someone explain the different effects a person gets with a razor cut verses the scissor cut?

I have medium hair. I keep it one lenght all the time but, latley I have been wanting to get a new hair style. Should I get a razor cut or sciccor cut? And what is the difference. I want my hair to look fuller and also I want my hair to have a few layers in it. Should I go for a lot of layers or long layers. My hair is about shoulder length also. Need some expert advice. Thank you and God Bless.

Mainly a razor cut is cut with a razor and a scissor cut is cut with scissors.

Other than that any real cutter can get the same effect with either.

Hope this helped.

Razor cut (is cut with a razor...obviously) gives you smoothe ends...you hair looks more filling with it...make your hair look "FLOWABLE" Scissors give sharp ends...hair looks very light and pointy....

I think you should go for long layers, if you don't like it, you can always get it cut....and tell you hair dresser to cut it with a razor for a more fuller look.

Hope this helps....Good Luck

when hair is cut with a razor the ends are tapered and give a fuller effect.a blunt cut should be done with a scissor so all the end are the same length. if you do keep your hair long, you don't want to many layers, as the hair will look to thin at the ends.. good luck

i dont know the difference really but i assume you should get a scissor cut for layers ask them what scissors they are using because some can add fullness to your hair make sure that they know what they are doing if the use a razor...i just fot my hair cut last week with scissors and im assuming it will be fuller either way or else you can just use a volumizing product with it....well be unique! good luck with your cut and God Bless

Razoring gives the hair a wispy effect, and can be damaging to the hair shaft..Because, the razor has the tendency to split the hair shaft at an angle. You can get a simular effect with scissors through point cutting, but not as wispy..If you only want a small amount of layers go with some point cutting..Ask you stylists to do this...Not as blunt...
