I am thinking about getting my hair hilighted and trimmed with layers. I am going for a preppy/suferish medium length hair style and I want to know what I should get for it to look good and if I should let it keep growing out first.

I think your idea is awesome but lets get this straight you need to keep your haircollor and go for honey nut hazel highlights it will definatley bring out what you want tour look to be and it will really bring out your features especially your skin tone!

I often do you wash your hair? When you wash your hair wash it thoroughly with shampoo and use very little conditioner because too much conditioner will make it look oily and that's just gross. Then you should trim it a little bit and get your hair lightened a bit with added honey highlights.
